Birth Parent Council Institute Day 2019
Doing Family Supportive Services supported parents at the 10th Annual Birth Parent Institute Day. Founder Gregory Cox played an important role in starting this important event by suggesting to DCFS that parents needed to be educated about the system in order to successfully navigate the road to return home. This year, we also facilitated a parent workshop: "Families Recovering When Returning Home" Parents learned the importance of building a good support system.
Annual Informational Workshop For Parents
We Did It Again!
Our 2nd Annual Stay The Course To Win Workshop Was a Success!
Hosted by: Sankofa House
This year's focus was on what to do when there is a "Dead End" on the road to re-unification. Parents received valuable information about the system, services, and their responsibility to make adjustments so they can move forward. Every year we give an award to parents who have successfully re-united with their children and are doing well.
We wrapped up the day with comedian Rome Anthony who provided comic relief 😄 to all who attended.
Our goal is to provide an authentic and affirming atmosphere where parents are equipped to succeed.
